If
you come by bus from Granada, San Juan del Sur o Pe�as Blancas (the
border), your most likely halfway point will be the city of Rivas. |

From
Rivas you can take a collective taxi (10 c�rdobas) to the port of San
Jorge (20 minutes). You’ll find the taxis in the bus terminal, but you
don’t need to wander around looking for them: the drivers come to look
for passengers as soon as people get off the bus. |

In
San Jorge, boats depart for Moyogalpa or San Jose on the island (1 hour
journey). You can take the small wooden launches (30-40 Cordobas) or a
larger ferry boat (60 Cordobas). The fares are collected during the
trip, so it’s not necessary to stop at the port office.
If you are traveling with your own vehicle and you want to take it to
the island, a reservation for the larger ferry is required. For
reservations and more information about fares and sailing times, call
the numbers on the tables. |

In
Moyogalpa (or San Jose) you can take a bus marked with the destination
of either Merida or Balgue (25 Cordobas). Both of these routes go
through Santa Cruz. The trip takes 2 hours and goes via Altagracia.
Ask to be dropped in Santa Cruz at the Fundacion Entre Volcanes. From
there walk 50 meters further on along the bus route to the El Encanto
sign on the right.
If you arrive at night, a flashlight is recommended. Take into account
that bus service is limited on Sundays and the schedule is subject to
change.
You can also hire a taxi van in Moyogalpa to take you directly to El
Encanto (1 hour trip). The taxis offer their services at the dock. You
can negotiate a group price depending on the number of people and their
destinations. For example, the fare to Santa Cruz is around $25, but 4
people could pay just $30. |

If
you are coming from Granada on the San Carlos ferry, your arrival point
on the island will be Puerto Gracia, outside of Altagracia. Arrival
time is after dark, around 7 P.M. |

Your
only option from Puerto Gracia is to take a taxi. Be sure your taxi
driver will bring you to our parking lot. The trip takes 1 hour and the
price is negotiable depending on the number of passengers and their
destinations. For example, the trip for one person costs about
$20. |
